Solar is breaking records after records
According to Cleantechnica : ” Solarbuzz recently reported that world solar PV power capacity grew by a record 9,000 megawatts (MW) in the 1st quarter of 2014. However, that record isn’t likely to last long. “
” The solar market research company forecasts that every quarter this year will be higher than the one before it. ” Yes, you read that right, 9 GW of solar capacity have been installed in only three months.
To various market forecasts, the new solar capacity installed this year should be of around 50 GW. This has to be compared to 20 GW in 2010 and 35 GW last year. It should reach 100 GW by 2018.
