Climate change dries up lakes in China and California

” As of Jan. 21, 2014, 67 percent of California was in extreme drought, the second worst category possible on the U.S. Drought Monitor. “ The website has published some stunning photos of a completely dried up lake ( see left).

The situation is equally critical in China, as its largest freshwater lake – twice the size of London, no less – has dried up as well, endangering Beijing’s water supplies.
