Climate change endangers tea

TeaIt seems every single thing we enjoy in our daily lives is endangered by unchecked climate change. We have seen here that chocolate, coffee and wine will see their productions alter and decrease by warming temperatures.

Climate Progress published last month a list of 16 of your favorite things that climate change is totally screwing up. Among the list are beer, maple syrup, chili peppers and apple pies.

Now, according to Al Jazeera, global warming is also endangering the second most popular drink after plain water : tea.

Higher average temperatures, erratic and less abundant rainfall make a hard life for tea trees in region of Assam, India.

It would be nice if people saw how climate change is endangering their favorite stuff and how easily they can do something about it. Now that would be a great idea for a communications campaign for a non governmental organization.
