Morocco wants 42 percent renewablesIf you think that solar energy is just fad dedicated to rich nations, read on : Morocco  has a ” goal of increasing installed renewable energy capacity to 42 per cent by 2020 and becoming a renewable energy industry leader. “

The African Development Bank Group has been demonstrating its support to scaling up renewable energy in Africa with the approval of US $800 million in loans to spur private investment in Morocco’s growing wind and solar markets.

This has translated into building a 500MW concentrated solar plant in Ouarzazate. This would be then the largest of its kind not only in Africa but also in the world. Source: Morocco on the Move.
